The American School fue fundado en el año 1960 . El 18 de Octubre 1961 el colegio es reconocido oficialmente por el Ministerio de Educación. En 1993 la sociedad educacional es transferida a sus actuales propietarios, Fernando Orellana Fernández y Claudia García de Orellana (ex alumna de The American School). En 1994, se funda la enseñanza media. En 1997 egresó la primera promoción de 4to Medio. Tambien en 1997 el colegio comienza con jornada escolar completa y se traslada a una completa infraestructura escolar que hoy lo cobija en el sector Valle Volcanes . En 2007 , se amplía la infraestructura en el marco del modelo "Edificios Escolares de Alto Desempeño" , que provee a los alumnos de altos estandares de confort térmico, acústico, lumínico y de ventilación en condiciones sustentables y de eficiencia energética.

The American School was founded in 1960. On 18th October 1961, the School was officially recognized by the ministry of Education. In 1993, the Educational corporation was transferred to its current owners, Fernando Orellana Fernández and Claudia García de Orellana , a former student of The American School . In 1994 , the High School was founded and the first group of twelfth-grade students graduated in 1997. Also in 1997 , the School was moved to a completely new building and infraestructure , Which is in the Valle Volcanes district . In 2007 , School building was expanded under the High Performance School buildings model, which provides students high levels of thermal, acoustic, visual and indoor air quality comforts, under sustainable and efficiency energy conditions. VER
